Obsideo · beta
AfterCapture
Import photos, videos and files from camera cards and folders to your Obsideo account, and find any of them later by describing what's in them.
Windows 10 and 11.
Getting started
- New to Obsideo? Create your account in Drive first: go to obsideo.io/drive, create an account (12 GB free) and write down your 12 words. They're the only way to recover your files if this computer is lost, and they let you open the same files in Drive.
- Run the installer. The beta isn't code-signed yet, so Windows shows "Windows protected your PC" the first time: click More info, then Run anyway.
- Open AfterCapture from your desktop. It opens in its own window.
- Sign in with the same email you use for Obsideo Drive.
- Paste your key from Drive when the app asks: open obsideo.io/drive, click the round Account button at the top right, scroll to Your key, click Show key for the CLI and copy the whole line.
- Enter your beta code. It includes Auto-log for 25 photos and 10 clips.
- Click + Add files, choose a small folder (a handful of photos and a short clip is plenty) or a camera card, and follow the five steps.
- Look around your Library: search by what's in a shot ("dog on a beach", "rain", "70mm"), open an entry, read its description and keywords.
What Auto-log does
Auto-log writes a description, keywords and, for clips, moments with times. That's what makes your files searchable.
To do this, small preview frames (not your files) are sent to an AI service. This part is not private. Your files themselves are encrypted on your computer before they upload. You can turn Auto-log off for any import, or in Settings.
What the beta doesn't do yet
- Mac (coming next).
- Import straight from a phone: copy the photos to a folder first, then add the folder.
- Previews of RAW photos inside Obsideo Drive. They show in AfterCapture.
Tell us what you think
Anything confusing, slow or broken is exactly what we want to hear. In the app: Settings → Send feedback, or email regan@obsideo.io. If something went wrong, Settings → Export logs and attach the file: it holds the app's logs and import records, with no photos, videos or keys.
Uninstall
Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps → AfterCapture → Uninstall. Your files on Obsideo stay in your account.
